On a cold winter day, a down-and-out poet crosses the Yangtze River from Wuhan to Nanjing, hoping to fulfill his late friend’s last wish: to publish a poetry collection. He meets a female college student at the dock, and the two strangers briefly cross paths before parting in awkwardness.
